Happy Friday! And happy Good Friday to all those observing.
Holy hannah it’s Friday already. I had the best of intentions to get so much more accomplished than I actually did. I don’t even think I’ve completed what I wanted to do on Monday alone and it’s Friday! And yet I was using my one-page productivity sheets… I was meditating consistently… reading and writing every morning… doing the Qigong exercises Brendon taught us… taking breaks every 50 minutes (well almost…) and have my two alarms set with my inspiring words coming in!
Okay, so maybe I’m introducing some new great habits, AND, maybe too many at the same time. Maybe I need to focus on ‘Just One Thing’…
I am notorious for having multiple windows open on my computer at any given time.
I am also known to be in the middle of writing down say, what I need to do, when I remember about the tea I just made, and then when I get up to get my tea I notice the pens on the counter, and then when I go to put them away I see the card I bought and still need to write, and then I notice that completed application that still needs to be scanned, and then I look down at the small pile of business cards of folks I wanted to follow up with and start making notes about, and before I know it I’ve gone down a deep rabbit hole and totally forget what I was doing in the first place.
Can you relate? (I hope its not just me.) Or maybe I’m just a little crazy. And that’s cool, too!
However, I am committed to getting more diligent and getting super disciplined about doing JUST ONE THING at a time.
I am a big believer in having everything you want, however maybe not all at the same time.
When I get excited about all of the new things I am learning, I want to implement them ALL. And when I have so many ideas running through my head at any given moment I want to do them ALL. And when I’m pumped about all on my do-to list, I want to check them ALL off and all at the same time!
I really think it comes down to focusing on JUST ONE THING at a time.
And research has proven that multi-tasking is simply not effective. Single-tasking is where it’s at. (something I’m working on!)

There are so many things to learn, to say yes to, to try out. Information is being launched and lurched at us from all angles all of the time. And it’s exciting ~ and it’s also often overwhelming.
Pause. Breathe. Smile.
That information isn’t going anywhere. Those ideas will still be there. Those opportunities will still come your way.
There’s a LOT we could do – and likely we will do – if we perhaps choose JUST ONE THING at a time. One step at a time. One task at a time. One habit at a time.
