I’m busy, you’re busy, we’re all busy. Stop apologizing. Start breathing.

I’m busy, you’re busy, we’re all busy. Stop apologizing. Start breathing.

I’m busy. You’re busy. We’re all busy.

Life is busy. I get it.

And yet, I feel there’s a weird association around this one word ~ BUSY ~ that actually has so many different connotations.

Sometimes we wear ‘busy’ as a badge of honour. As if to say, the busier you are, somehow the more exciting your life must be. Or the busier you are, the more productive you must be. (NEITHER are the case, I’ll have you know!)

 Sometimes we wear ‘busy’ as an excuse. “I don’t have time to read, work out, insert whatever you wish here I’m just too busy”. Sometimes it’s reality, and sometimes excuses are trite. At the end of the day, you make time for your highest priorities. So own them.

And sometimes we wear busy as a negative way of being we need to apologize for.

I don’t think I could count the number of times I’ve said “I’m so sorry!” or “My apologies!” for being busy.

But do I really need to be sorry, to apologize? Do YOU need to be sorry for how you choose to live your life?


If it’s getting to the point where we are affecting other people around us, perhaps.

If it’s getting to the point of stressing ourselves out, maybe.

If it’s getting to the point one or more individuals are left miserable, perhaps maybe definitely.


However if you enjoy, dare I even say thrive, on having a full schedule, NO APOLOGIES NECESSARY!

Now, if you’re running around like a crazy chicken (like I seem to be these days… I mean it’s T-14 days until Women Living Big – LIVE ~ YAHOO! So it’s to be expected) and you’d like some tips, here are some ideas I’m trying to implement regularly myself!


  1. Do a braindump.

    ‘Aint no use having all of your to-dos and stressors whirling around in your head… spit it all out on paper. You’ll feel better, trust me.


  1. Apply the 4 Ds.

    Go through the list (something I have yet to do!) and apply the 4 D’s: Do, Dump, Delegate, Delay.


  1. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat.

    Seriously… sometimes we just need to breathe. (I did this yesterday and it helps! Also yoga and mediation ~ if even for 5 minutes!)
